Glamour Talk
March 2nd, 2008 by idm01An interesting conversation sprung up today with my best friend, and the chosen subject was glamour. We conversed about the different aspects of glam; the fashion sense, the money spent and the style one should pull off to attend the desired level of “Glam-ness”.
And then it hit me, I am not in a position to say that I am highly educated in the matter of fashion, nor do I have my own trust fund loaded with BIG money that I can spend on diamond watches and hand-woven silk outfits without a worry. However, I would love to imagine that I have style, one out of three not too bad. And then I got into one of my philosophical mood on the whole issue of style, I realize no one truly have their own style, we all inherit our style from previous generations and our surrounding.
What is glamour? I ask myself. It is for sure not the high life of models wannabe and snobbish brats whose substance of conversation if were to be listened and studied would lower the whole collective of human IQ. Glamour is style, and style is from within us. The way we walk, the way we talk and the way we interact with those around us and above all: Being true to self and being known for who we really are, and being creative and stylish enough to work with what we have and can afford. There… my two cents worth of thoughts on Glamour.
